Welcome to MSPS


The Mercantile Service Provident Society (MSPS) is a superannuation fund approved by the Government. It was formed by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in 1939 and is probably the first provident fund to be set up in Sri Lanka for the greater welfare of private sector employees. The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce acts as the Trustee of the MSPS. The employee contributes a minimum of 8% of his salary and the employer contributes a minimum of 12% of his salary.

MSPS Annual Reports


The Membership of the Society as at 31 December 2017 was 15,399 as compared with 14,628 members for the previous year, and was distributed among the 53 contributing companies.

  Rules and Regulations



The Rules of the MSPS provide the way the Society should be governed. These Rules have been approved by the general membership, the Commissioner of Labour and the Commissioner General of Inland Revenue (CGIR).
